WHO WE ARE
From our offices in a historic mill complex along the Charles River in Waltham, MA, our studio tackles complex landscape design challenges for clients including universities, developers, architects, and individuals throughout New England and across the country.
We were founded in 1998 by Tom Ryan who, having grown up in a family of site contractors building and making, is nationally known for his expertise in documenting and constructing landscapes.
Today, the firm is a partnership between three principals: Tom Ryan, Laura Knosp, and Alan Aukeman, who collectively guide our eight-person team.
Thoughtful design solutions backed by strong technical expertise continue to be at the heart of our practice.

Since our founding, we have provided a full range of Landscape Architecture and Strategic Planning services across a broad mix of projects, from institutional to residential, commercial to civic.
Working across many project types and scales enables us to bring fresh eyes to each new challenge and to see the inherent potential of every site.
